Below are answers to the most common questions we receive. If you do not see your question here, contact us and we will point you in the right direction.

Virtual Estimates

A virtual estimate allows us to evaluate your project using photos, video, and a quick set of questions—often without an initial site visit. This is ideal for common projects like EV chargers, panel additions, lighting upgrades, and straightforward commercial service work.

Virtual estimates work best when the scope is clear and the installation path is visible (for example, EV charger installs, dedicated circuits, panel additions, lighting retrofits, and many service requests). If we determine a site visit is necessary, we will the glad to come out in person as well.

**How It Works (Simple 3-Step Process)**

### **1. Schedule a 1-Hour Appointment Window**

You’ll choose a **one-hour arrival window** for your virtual visit.

When we say a *1:00–2:00 PM window*, that means:

* We may start the appointment **right at 1:00 PM**

* Or **anytime between 1:00 and 2:00 PM**

* Or **as late as exactly 2:00 PM**

This gives you flexibility and ensures we stay on schedule — just like an in-person appointment, but without the drive time.

### **2. Receive a Secure Text Message**

When the Vestimator is ready for you inside of the window, you’ll receive a text message from a 800 numbers. Just tap the link to begin.

### **3. Allow Access & Join the Virtual Meeting Room**

No apps to download. No accounts to create.

Simply click “Allow” for camera and microphone in your mobile browser, and you’ll be connected to your Vestimator instantly.

When we can clearly see the panel and the installation route, virtual estimates are usually highly accurate. If conditions change on site (hidden conduit obstacles, structural fire blocking, unknown wall conditions, etc.), we will discuss options before proceeding.

Yes. Once we confirm scope, we can schedule the installation and—when required—handle permitting and inspection coordination.

EV Chargers

We install Level 2 EV chargers for residential and commercial applications, including Tesla Wall Connector and most other major brands. We can also replace older chargers, relocate an existing unit, or troubleshoot charger and circuit issues.

We carry multiple level 2 chargers in stock in different colors and end configurations (NACS & J1772 (often referred to as J17), we also have several EV load management devices available for purchase, such as DCC, and Emporia’s VUE (Power-smart) system

It depends on the charger output (amperage) and the installation method. We size the circuit based on the charger’s nameplate requirements and applicable electrical code, then confirm the panel has sufficient capacity. This is all based on your available load at your home, your Vestimator will most likely do a load calculation before you even receive your estimate.

Yes. We install outdoor-rated equipment and use weather-appropriate materials and fittings for a safe, durable installation. Most EV Chargers have a NEMA 4x rating and design to be in direct sunlight and in the elements.

This depends on the charger type (hardwired vs plug-in), local code interpretation, and the authority having jurisdiction (inspector). We design and install systems that meet code requirements and pass inspection, and we will explain the options if there is more than one compliant approach.

Often, yes. In many cases we can install a charger using available capacity, load calculations, or load management solutions. If a service upgrade is the best path, we will explain why and outline the process.

Many installations can be completed in a single visit. The exact timing depends on circuit length, wall/ceiling finishes, and whether permitting or utility coordination is required.

For the fastest quote, provide:

  • Panel photos and the panel label
  • Charger make/model
  • Proposed charger location
  • Approximate distance from panel to charger location
  • Any access constraints (finished walls, attic/crawlspace access, etc.)

Or you can just schedule a vestimate at a convent time for you 🙂

Panels / Service Upgrades

Common signs include frequent breaker trips, no available breaker spaces, planned high-load additions (EV charger, addition, hot tub, equipment), or outdated/unsafe panel types. We can evaluate your current system and recommend a practical path forward.

Yes. We handle service upgrades and coordinate the technical requirements involved, including utility coordination when needed.

Yes, there is typically an outage during the work. We will give you a realistic window based on the job scope and coordinate to minimize disruption.

Sometimes. Depending on your equipment, we may be able to add a subpanel or reorganize circuits safely. We will recommend the most cost-effective option that still meets code and reliability needs.

When required, yes. We can handle the permitting process and support the inspection requirements for the jurisdiction.

Commercial Lighting – Rebates

We complete lighting upgrades and retrofits for offices, warehouses, parking garages, retail spaces, and exterior applications. Typical work includes LED conversions, fixture replacements, and lighting control improvements.

Both options are possible. The best choice depends on your existing fixture type, desired light output, energy goals, and maintenance plans.

Yes we participate in all known rebates programs, we are currently enrolled in 4 different programs, some our specific to small businesses, and can hav high rebate values, while others focus on multifamily properties, and our based on actual kilowatt savings. In these scenarios we can sometimes take the value of your rebates directly off of your invoice :), that way you don’t have to wait for the money to get to you.

Yes. We help select practical specifications (lumens and CCT) so the finished space looks right for the use case—without being too harsh or too dim.

Yes. Occupancy sensors, daylight harvesting controls, scheduling, and other control strategies can reduce energy use and improve usability.

Yes. Many commercial lighting projects can be scheduled in phases or during off-hours to limit disruption to your business.

Yes. We support build-outs, equipment circuits, lighting changes, and electrical modifications needed for tenant spaces.

Pricing, Scheduling, Permits, and Warranty

Yes. We offer virtual estimates for many projects and on-site estimates when the scope requires a physical walkthrough.

Pricing depends on scope, code requirements, access, and material needs. For many projects, we can provide clear, upfront pricing once the scope is confirmed.

Scheduling varies by season and job type. We will provide the earliest availability and options that match your timeline.

When required by the jurisdiction or project type, yes. We build installations to code and support the full inspection process.

Yes. We operate professionally and can provide documentation as needed. We are a VA Class A contractor with multiple designation to include; CIC, HIC, ELECTIONS, FAS, BSC, & H/H. We even got the bid invite for the new HRBT expansion 🙂

Payments are DUE UPON COMPLETION of the above work. For projects in excess of $800, we require a 50% deposit. If rebates are involved with your project and you would like us to take the rebates as a credit, then your deposit will be the entire amount due. Our final payment will be the rebates paid directly from the utility. We reserve the right to add to your overdue balance a service charge of 1.5% (18% annual rate) on all amounts unpaid on the first day of the 2nd month following service. If this account is placed with a third party for collection, the owner agrees to pay all costs and expenses of collection including the reasonable attorney’s fees in addition to the service charges stated above. Go Green Electric, Inc. warrants this project to be free from defects in workmanship and materials, under normal use and conditions, for a period of one (1) year from the original invoice date. The owner shall be responsible for the re-installation of any surface materials (e.g. sheetrock) that were removed during the above work. The utility company may require additional fees to complete their portion of the work. Those fees cannot be determined before the proposal is approved, are not accounted for in this scope/cost, and are to be paid by the owner directly to the utility. With underground installations, there will be at least a 5 day lead time for Miss Utility to mark all public facilities. It is the owner’s responsibility to have all private utilities marked before we arrive and shall be the owner’s liability if unmarked private utilities are damaged. This Project may reuse your existing electrical wiring and controls. During the course of this proposed work, we may uncover some preexisting issues while accessing and disturbing your previous installation. We will make every reasonable effort to avoid any damage, however it is not in the scope of this project to make repairs to your existing electrical system outside of what we have proposed above.
